Eat | Drink | Do
Hawke’s Bay is incredibly special to us, and we can’t wait for you to celebrate our wedding in such a magic spot. It’s where Rikke grew up, and where we have both spent holidays together with family and friends. For anyone who hasn’t been - you’re in for an absolute TREAT.
We’ve pulled together a few of our recommended things to see and do, below. Highly recommend tagging on a couple of days either side of the wedding to make a trip out of it.

Fruit & Ice Cream
Rush Munro’s Ice Cream | A Hawke’s Bay classic. NZ’s oldest ice creamery. Many an ice cream has been had here growing up in the Bay, and it’s still a go-to.
Bay Blueberries | Best spot to pick up a punnet of blueberries and a real-fruit ice cream (get the blueberry flavour). Hawke’s Bay is known for it’s amazing fruit, and we might be biased - but seriously nothing compares!
Scott’s Strawberry Farm | Pick up a punnet of the best strawberries in the Bay. Get in early as they sell out.
Ocean Beach | Visit for the spectacular view driving down, and for a swim.
Waimarama Beach | Beautiful beach that Rikke spent a lot of time at growing up. Grab the best burger in the Bay from the Waimarama Store and eat down at the beach.
Cape Kidnappers | Iconic spot to visit with a stunning golf course and a gannet colony. Book for lunch.
Biking Wine Trail | Such a fun activity where you bike along dirt tracks (very easy) between wineries in Haumoana/Te Awanga for tastings. You will hit some stunning spots doing this. Pack a sandwich, some fruit, and a hat. Highly recommend! Make sure you book well in advance.
Te Mata Peak | An iconic spot with lots of trails to hike, bike, or you can drive to the top for the panoramic views.
Marine Parade, Napier | Stunning walkable esplanade with lots to see and do for the kids (aquarium, playgrounds, ice cream etc).
Hawke’s Bay Farmers Market (Sundays) | So many great food stalls. Go for coffee, breakfast, and freshly baked goods.
There is SO much more you can see / do, so if you had something specific in mind, just reach out to us and we can point you in the right direction.
